Wordpress and Comments

Hmm. So, I started to wonder why nobody was adding comments all of a sudden - this blog shouldnt suck that much I hope..

But it turns out WordPress 1.5 has this new option:

(x) Blacklist comments from open and insecure proxies.

And it does not seem to work right. It gives me a comment form, but when I try to add a comment, it just silently does nothing and returns to the page. Looks like the feature is not working correctly. If you have been wondering the same about your wordpress blog, this might be why..

I am very sorry about this, my dear readers :-(

One reason I like using a Captcha challenge for comments, etc (OK, I’m not using Wordpress but Nucleus ;-). At least right now I don’t need any other spam control. (I know it’s a slight inconvenience for the user…)

So I hope this comment is posted now :-)

Just a quick note, all the old comments are still in the database they were just silently marked as spam. Check out your wp_comments table in your wordpress database. If you have something like phpMyAdmin installed its not that hard to pick out the old comments in there from the spam.
