Asian tragedy

It’s been horrible to watch the news unfold, the death toll constantly increasing.. 12000.. 20000.. 60000.. Over two hundred finnish tourists are still missing, plus all the other nationalities, and the local people.. And looking at the news and pictures, it just starts to look like not many of the missing ones ever return.. :-(

If you saw, www.apple.com is dedicated to the tragedy today and contains several links if you want to donate to the rescue effort, it’s worth a look. Or your local Red Cross website probably has also more information.

I never expected to have this much contrast between this and the merry christmas post..

Gah… I was gonna trackback this, but the box emptied itself on preview, so I’ll do it the old fashioned way: trackback!

Our planet is changing, Tuomas. There’s not much we can do about it. A friend of mine is watching these changes for several years. He says that the whole pacific region isn’t a safe place to live for last year.

There is a community forum in Russian, where people collect facts about Earth and Sun, some of those are not well known. If you read it once, you will be amazed, how much changes on good old Earth and how much is going to change.

Did you know e.g. that tops of mountains are beginning to melt out? And they are one of most important sources of fresh water. It’s going to give us some serious problems in about 20 years.

Alexandre: yeah, I have been thinking of the same. Lots of seemingly little things like the raise of the average temperatures - and those “small” things play a huge role in the life of the whole planet. Man is very small after all when it comes to the forces of nature. And even though science has gathered a lot of knowledge about many things, it still falls short very often..

Indeed, well done by Apple, Google and Amazon (which is even more impressive than apple, since that spot on the homepage is their only ‘front’ to the world, if you know what I mean).

C’mon Ms, Novell, Gnome.org(!).. where are you?
